Book for July: "THE SHACK" by William P. Young
Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend.
Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into the darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever.
In a world where religious seems to grow increasingly irrelevant The Shack wrestles with the timeless question, "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You'll want everyone you know to read this book!

Book for May: A HOMEMADE LIFE - by Molly Wizenberg
I've tallied your votes and book #2 - which will be read and discussed in May - is A Homemade Life by Molly Wizenberg. Yes, we will read ONE book per month, which I think will best suit the busy woman's schedule. This also allows time for everyone to get their book. Remember to add your posts to the 'discussion tab' on Facebook or send your thoughts to me and I'll post for you.
Visit our group's Shelfari.com page to read a wonderful discussion on the Kindle, an electronic reading device from Amazon.com. Several of our members use the device and really enjoy it; if you enjoy e-reading, check it out. For those of you who prefer the traditional route, "A Homemade Life" is available in paperback for about $10 on Amazon.com.

And the winner is...ANGRY HOUSEWIVES EATING BON-BONS
Meet the five women of Freesia Court who believe there's nothing better than good coffee, delicious desserts, and strong friendships. Laughter is definitely the glue that holds them together: there's Faith, a lonely mother of twins who harbors a terrible secret; big, beautiful Audrey, the resident sex queen; Merit, the shy doctor's wife with the face of an angel living in a private hell with an abusive husband; Kari, a wise woman with a wonderful laugh; and finally, Slip, a tiny spitfire of a woman who isn't afraid to look trouble straight in the eye. Which housewife will you most relate to? Find out as you sit, relax, and enjoy our first book selection.
Discussions will begin next week - Sunday, April 4. Feel free to post online at Facebook or comment here on the blog. You can also send an email to busywomansbookclub@gmail.com.
